BRANDING | EVENTS

Short ‘n’ Sweet Social

What started off as a bit of an unorganised events team turned into a more structured events business with a clear direction.

I joined when a friend was stuck on what to do next with the brand. I loved the name, but it needed some personality and a proper direction. So I gave switched it up a bit and focussed on three directions pub quizzes, karaoke and, in keeping with its roots, games nights. I also helped with getting some small influencers to host the nights and create a concrete pitch deck to send to small businesses for some sponsorships.

We ran 10 pub quizzes, 4 games nights and 2 karaokes before we had to pause for personal reasons.

BRANDING | TWITCH

ThisisDarcy - Twitch

A personal hobby that turned into a side project. I set up a YouTube and Twitch channel to play and stream video games and connect with other creators.

I researched how to start a channel properly, then built a flexible brand that works across every part of it. I’m still learning as I go, like making intro reels and editing videos. There’s always something to improve on the brand, and I’m having fun learning about the gaming industry along the way.

BRANDING, EARLY DEVELOPMENT

Fruit Tree Media: A film production company

A fast-growing production company needed a full brand and development strategy so they could present themselves as the professionals within the industry.

The brand had to be simple but still capture their ethos: pairing experienced and inexperienced filmmakers, and offering training and support through talent labs, networking and promotion.

I built it around the symbolism of a pear tree: longevity, growth, the female form in art, and the way a cut tree reveals many stories in its rings.

This was in early development and didn’t progress into a solid brand identity.
